Air Bellow

Air Bellows

An air bellow is a single acting pneumatic actuator made of reinforced elastomer material. Each end is attached to a metallic cover containing mounting holes and air inlet ports. The products exist in single, double and triple convolutions.

Dunlop air bellows are frictionless, economical and virtually maintenance free. They provide an ideal solution for a wide range of applications such as lifting, pressing, pushing, pivoting and isolating vibrations for any kind of load. They are high thrust, mainly short stroke pneumatic actuators or isolators with a large active surface area to transfer the internal air pressure.

Dunlop air bellows are designed to benefit customer applications where conventional actuators are either not powerful enough, too bulky or environmental conditions would be demanding in maintenance. The primary market segments are in the industrial sector, comprising the paper industry, food industry, textile industry, building industry and more.

Dunlop air bellows are also extremely effective vibration isolators suitable for many types of equipment. By carefully selecting the air bellow with the correct natural frequency they can significantly reduce the transmitted vibration from most industrial and commercial applications.

Mercedes-Benz India announced the national launch of its new, third-generation Mercedes-Benz Actros 4841K. The New Actros 4841K takes these aspects to an even higher level thus setting new standards in the heavy duty truck segment in India.

The new Mercedes-Benz Actros has both an emotive and practical design. The most eye-catching improvement in the design is the three-millimetre-thick, pressure-tight guard plate for the radiator and engine. This stainless steel component reduces damage in the region of the radiator and engine, while accentuating the powerful styling of the new mining Actros. Also, thanks to the additional protective parts, operators can avoid expensive repairs and at the same time reduce downtimes of their trucks.

Now, Actros drivers can enjoy the safety and convenience of a feature previously confined to cars: the multifunction steering wheel and the Driver Information System. All these various control and driver assist systems effectively ensure the safety of driver, vehicle and cargo during transportation. India-warns-the-developed-world-against-green-protectionism

As the Kyoto agreement runs out in 2012, the world is getting together to make sure that they have another international treaty in place by then, to address the deteriorating environmental issues and to ensure that each nation has a certain emission cut targets set for it.

However, developing heavyweights like India, China and Brazil, seem to have taken a hard stand when it comes to agreeing to the emission cuts they will abide to. And India’s chief climate negotiator, Shyam Saran, said that the developed world should guard itself against green protectionism and must offer greater help to developing nations to deal with their eco-problems.

Not only did he warn against a growing discord between the developing and the developed world when it comes to dealing with green issues, but also stated that nations like India could only sign on treaties with realistic goals in regards to emission control.

While Energy Secretary Steven Chu suggested slapping a tariff on imports from nations that do not require emissions cuts to “level the playing field”, Saran responded saying that the negotiations were already starting on an uneven playing field.

The sour grapes between, seems to suggest that a realistic figure when it comes to curbing carbon emissions is still a long way away from materializing and while India’s pledge of never letting its per capita emissions exceed those of rich nations, it seems a pretty fair deal in itself.

More has to be done at this point rather than worry about political brownie points …

Meanwhile, Tata Motors launched the Nano— world’s cheapest car, in India!
